I put a split 7-bone grassfed Hereford prime rib thru the grinder last weekend for Father's Day. I got a stainless 36" Blackstone for my gift, and this seemed like the ideal maiden voyage. Did the initial burn-ins and seasoned, followed by 3# of bacon to get her greased up. Bacon-Onion-Mushroom-Swiss on ciabatta rolls. Bet you can guess which one is mine.....
My grill is on its last legs and I’ve been eyeballing a Blackstone. I know this is your maiden voyage with yours, but how do you like it so far? The results look encouraging.

I really like it for the surface area for big cooks. But I also agree with what I'd previously read in its one shortcoming; doesn't get SCREAMING hot for the absolute killer sear you want sometimes. I can live with that, though. We have 4 kids at home, so being able to make enough pancakes or burgers in one shot is a big plus for us. It won't replace my wood, gas or charcoal cookers, but it's a nice additional tool.
Looks good! I have the Blackstone smash burger press – better than the one used by the SmashBurger restaurants. The second photo in this link provides a better idea of its size.
ETA: I should’ve mentioned that it’s ~1/3rd inches deep, so makes burgers that thick. Both surfaces are completely flat and parallel to each other. The side smashed against the griddle gets a delicious crust. You put a sheet of parchment paper over the ball of ground beef to prevent it from adhering to the smashing tool. Here’s how it’s done at SmashBurger (two minute video):
Yeah...just AWESOME work on the grill, sir...fine job!! I could put myself in a food coma with a few of those...

Oh wow, can you block certain other members like SIG-229SAS from seeing this? He will want to try this out. No, really, that does look delicious, I kinda hope he sees this.
The wife and kid got me a Camp Chief Griddle for Father's day least week. I broke it in Wednesday with some smash burgers. Wife loved them! Said they were the best burgers I've ever made (and I grill a LOT of burgers).

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I dunno, I can’t fault the man. Sometimes you want a steak, sometimes you want a burger. Sometimes you want an amazing burger, and using a fine cut of meat to get there isn’t something I feel I can disapprove of. He made prime rib burgers on his father’s day gift. Who am I to second guess?
