The Trump admin's Cuba policy is starting to cause changes in generations old policies in Cuba. It's a start but still no: If I had a spare billion I wouldn't invest in Cuba even with these new policies.

Right.... What's to keep them from once again seizing and nationalizing any equipment implemented in production? But there are those who will look to get in on the ground floor of an opportunity. Still, it could be the beginning of something very positive. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Some of the levers I've seen pulled on high risk investments in communist countries: Agreed. The Trump admin has radically changed the Cuban economy in 2026 and I think the longer it goes the more likely ownership deals available and return of seized assets. I visited there in January with my Son. I would not invest a dime. It is still a Communist country with pictures of Che and Fidel all over the place. If I ever have the chance to visit again, I would take toiletries, dollar bills and medicines to give to the people. Niech Zyje P-220 Steve

let the communist government totally collapse, have the Cuban people yank control from the security apparatus, and then have foreign investment rebuild the broken economy. Dealmaking with communists is a fools game. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

What's to keep the original oil companies from reacquiring their property rights once the commies get the boot? They have deep pockets and influence that will easily override and of these "investment" schemes they're selling now. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Yep. Ask the owners of the American property seized in the Cuban revolution about nationalization. Seized in 1960...66 years later (i.e. now, with President Trump applying pressure) Cuba is 'prepared to discuss' compensation. Fix your damn government, then talk about more US money getting dumped in to prop up your economy.
