A member mentioned doing a bulk delete of his facebook posts. Can one delete all past posts? Does this require special software or is this possible using standard Facebook tools? Thinking I might like to do the same.

not sure how to do it... but anything you delete will have been archived elsewhere. I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

Do the next right thing |
If you have Firefox or Chrome, there are plug-ins and scripts you can use to do it. Facebook itself does not provide a way. When I get home I will post what I used; I don't remember offhand.

And be forewarned: Facebook's code really, really sucks. Whether you whack 'em manually, one-by-one, or use one of these scripts: "New" posts may continue showing up in your timeline for days, or even weeks. The only way to truly clear your timeline is to have your account irrevocably deleted and start over with a new identity. "America is at that awkward stage. Go ahead punk, make my day |
Use Google Chrome and load the plug in "F____book Post Manager". It allows you to bulk delete posts, likes, pictures, you name it. Be advised that often you need to run it a couple of times over a period of time to get every single one, especially if you are a FB post whore. All in all it took me about 2 hours running that plug in every 5-10 minutes to delete a decade worth of shit - deleting things by the year with no review. Just uncheck the need to review the deletions and run at 16x speed. I still use FB for family stuff and atmospherics (why kill a good intel source) but delete posts / likes / etc monthly. If you try to do it 'by hand' in FB, you'll spend years trying it. The plug in is a must IMO.

I spent hours a couple of years ago deleting each post individually. Whenever I post now, I leave it up for about 72hrs and go back and delete ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever

I did the same, so I decided, when I started using FB again, I'd...
Do this ^^^^^ That lasted for a while. Then I slipped. And slipped again. And each time I slipped, I slipped a bit more for a bit longer. Then I started leaving some posts there, on purpose, "because." Now "F___book Post Manager is on about it's third run. All that's left is 2016, I think. I'm going to take a hiatus. When I start using it again, I'll be trimming my "friends" list down dramatically. The leftists will all be gone, and that's for certain. I'm tired of trying to maintain a dialogue with those people. For those running the post manager, how does this affect your group posts, professional pages, etc.? I've got 5 or 6 groups I manage/admin, and 4 professional pages along with 3 businesses/nonprofit pages. I use a separate account depending on which group/audience I'm targeting. I work with another account. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "The trouble with our Liberal friends...is not that they're ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so."
