It also doesn't get damaged by pets. I have vinyl flooring in both bedrooms with premium underlayment and a 100 lb Rottweiler Doberman. Still looks absolutely perfect years later. Not a scratch.

That must vary from product to product. I have a 130 pound dog, and mine does get scratched from him.

RobLewNice job on pulling the baseboards and replacing them after laying the floor. I hate that quarter round BS they put on to cover the fact they didn't pull the baseboards.

BeancookerThere were two tools that were quite helpful. One is the Zenith trim puller. It works quite well. That said, there were some places that they shot four nails into the stud, and the baseboard was a real bitch to get off. The trim pulled definitely made it a whole lot easier.
The other tool was the Milwaukee Oscillating Multi-tool. I took a scrap piece if the new flooring, set it next to the door jamb, and then used the multi-tool with the wood cutting blade and cut the jambs so the flooring would fit underneath. It worked out really well.
Just as well, I’m quite happy with how the transition between the bedroom and the bathroom came out. It was pretty cool as I cut out the piece and then attached it to a second piece, then laid out the non stick paper over the grip strip. Put the pieces in place and while holding them where they needed to be, slid the paper out so the grip strips could bond.

I used this and installed it in 2015, due to a flood and still looks perfect. The laminate in my other bedroom is 2002 and looks fine also.

I put some fairly cheep solid vinyl plank from Home Depot down 5 years ago in most of the house for my daughter with two kids. I am amazed at how well it has held up, still looks virtually new with only the occasional damp mopping.
Now, how much more of the house do you need to do?

So last night she said it is a lot nicer than she expected. So today we are ordering enough to do the guest bedroom.
She wants to do the whole house, but that will be a little more expensive, so we will probably hold off on that. The rest of the house already has nice vinyl flooring, it’s just not the color she prefers.

I would also include the knee pads at the top of the list of quite helpful tools. A group I work with has installed bunches of vinyl plank in "Harvey" homes.
