I did the same for recent dental surgery. Ignored the opioids and used ibuprofen.

I did use the opioids when I was incarcerated in the residential rehab place for recovery from the surgery to implant support rods in my hip & thigh after a nasty fracture. They gave me two pills each morning, prior to Physical Therapy. I tried doing without the medication, but the PT was too painful, so I compromised, I took one pill instead of two.
