My Dad is trying to get used to the retirement thing and wants to do some travelling. We were thinking about a trip around early Sept. to the Bozeman area (neither of us has been) for probably 4-5 days. We definitely would like to do some fishing and rafting. What else is there to do/see there or within a reasonable drive? How about restaurants?

If anyone can recommend a fishing guide, i'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Museum of the Rockies in Bozo. Always interesting.

Frankly I'd drive the 2.5 hours north past Helena to Craig and do a float on the Missouri. BIG , clear water, scenic, full of rainbows. Look up "The Trout Shop" in Craig for MO river info.

I'm 6 miles N of Craig. I could easily show you a bunch of good access points to the MO.

You're close to Yellowstone Park as well.

Check out Selway Armory in Bozo too. SIG Master Dealer, nice shop with good prices.

If you're coming to MT looking for exotic, cuisine Can't help there. Lots of beef and baked potatoes. Try google maybe.

I have a friend who visits his son & grandchillin in Bozeman. Went out to a cafe, was surprised to see muffaletta on the menu. It had mayonnaise on it.

Check out Lewis & Clark Caverns. Take a loop down Hwy 191 to West Yellowstone, through the park and out the North Entrance to Livingston then back to Boz. Killer drive.

Check out Virginia City, the original territorial capital of Montana. A lot of it is a state historical park.

I've been to Bozeman a few times fishing. The drive up the Gallatin river is beautiful. There is an entrance to Yellowstone at the top.
