Wife’s 2009 F63 model but the dust.
$250 for a new control board and $170 for a new running belt.
Time to part ways.
No it is not a clothes hanger the wife usually pounds out 20-50 miles per week.
Just can’t afford the Peloton Tread.
$1500 is the most I want to spend the F63 is on sale for $1k.

Dude hit craigslist in like 2-3 months and all the people who dont use them will have new ones up. As to your original Q I've had 2 sole ellipticals and they both lasted a long time. One gave up the ghost and wasn't cost effective to repair, the current one, knock on wood is still going strong. Not sure about their treadmills but their ellipticals have been solid in my experience.

Sole is the go-to for home treadmills. We had one and it was well built and solid. Gave it up when we moved to a condo with a gym.

I have a Sole elliptical for 4 or 5 years and I'm very happy with it.

I have 2-3 days.
Treadmill is an absolute in our house. Too many kids for the wife to run outside and it is currently generally below freezing in the morning.

I'm a Precor guy myself. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace will have PLENTY of nearly new machines right now. People are fundraising for Christmas. If you're near Pittsburgh, I saw a great deal on a Precor recently.

I have a 2010 F85 which has been solid since the day I bought it new. It doesn't have nearly the miles you probably have on yours, but it's never been used as a clothes hanger either. I lube the running belt once a year and expect this unit to last many more years.

Just doing some quick math: 12 years x 52 weeks/year x 30 miles/week avg = over 18,000 miles your wife has gotten out of your F63. You're just now needing to replace the running belt and control board? Dude, I'd call that getting your money's worth! I understand not wanting to sink any money into a 12 year old treadmill with over 18k miles, but with the demonstrated record of reliability I'm not sure why you'd want to part ways with the brand.

The first 3 or so years it had very few miles as we did not have kids yet so unless it was below 30* she ran outside.
Before kiddos she was closer to 70 miles a week outside.
The thing has been great we have done nothing to it but lube it religiously. I have realigned the belt a few times.
The belt probably should have been replaced long ago but I just did not really feel like doing it.

I don’t want to go away from Sole and don’t really plan to.
But since we are talking a 12 year old product, I can give you a laundry list of companies that put out a stellar product 12 years ago but certainly don’t now.
Just wanted to see if their quality had declined like far too many other companies have.
