When the manufacturers went to a “composite” type rotor years ago the torque specs became a very critical part of wheel work, especially with aluminum wheels. The old hub in rotor with steel rims applications were run down with an impact and send it out, usually without much issues. Now not only torque but surface cleanliness is an issue. I had to bust out the rotor and wheel dressing pads to get the pulsing to stop in my vehicle, due to corrosion build up in the surfaces. I have torque sticks, but still hand torque the lugs afterwards and was still getting pulsing till I cleaned things off. | |||
