Heard before this was happening that there is a fertilizer shortage and prices are quaduple what they were last year. Many farmers are switching from corn to soybean because corn is a heavy fertilizer user. Cattle farmers say they may not be able to fertilize their hay fields.

This is a big deal.

It's bad enough for a large business to be devastated, but many farmers in my area of VA are in the supply chain of this business.

If fertilizer has to come from other faraway sources, local prices will skyrocket.

I help manage a company that, among other things, runs a golf course. The prices for our fert products have been quoted at between 77% and 150% increases over last years prices. Our other chemicals are more in the 15%-30% range for increases. Those are both big numbers, but the fert increases are enough that we are looking at cutting back the areas we use it on. Just another data point for those interested.

I can see the Attorney ads already.. Did you live within 100 miles of Winston Salem? A large cash award may be waiting.
