She has Kong toys, we have been making boxes and what not as well. How do yall entertain you dogs inside?

And yes she gets to play outside, walks, Home Depot and tractor supply trips etc. I’m specifically asking about inside mental stimulation ideas.

Beyond that, dog chews, balls and toys.

I don’t know what they’re called, but we have a couple food puzzle tray things that our Maggie really likes. Otherwise, she likes to play chase around the house, monkey in the middle with one of her toys, fetch with tennis balls, or hide and seek. One of the kids will go hide and Maggie will find him/her.

I have 2 high energy Working Line G Sheps, Kong frisbees and long hikes, usually 5 miles a day.
They love frisbee and have the local UPS/fedex drivers trained to stop and play. The downside of that is I go though 10-12 a year. Frisbees, not drivers

We use these and put treats inside.
Not cheap but they last forever (almost).
Sometimes they are on sale on Amazon or direct.
The small size is larger than it looks. Ou dogs are in the fifty pound range.

Marrow bones and once the dogs have got all the meat and marrow out, I filled them will peanut butter and put in the freezer. My dog sitters say the dogs won't let them leave the house until they have their peanut butter bones. I used to use Kongs but my male chewed two completely apart.

We have 3 Aussies that require work. Hide and seek is one of their favorite games; trying to find me or treats I hide around the house as well as working on obedience commands. I also play eye contact games with them to keep their minds working. As with people, mental challenges are more exhausting than physical ones most times.

Clark likes to do "sky dog," catching a plushy and then having a tug war over it. Three or four tosses are enough.

He also likes "Rubbie Dubbie" where he stretches out on the stairs and I rub his back. Unfortunately, he isn't so quick to return the favor.

And, of course, napping in the sun.

It's a dog's life, wish it could be mine!

I went with more pups and other pets, but they are aging out. I would be interested in ideas.

Otto, my wife and I use the same homemade toy-inside "activity boxes" as you show in your original post for our dogs. They work great.

75 pound boxer. tug of war toy a thick double side rope.

or I would look at her and suddenly crouch down and she would do the same
and it was game on. we would wrestle. I was the only one she was allowed to gnaw on my hands.
She knew just how much pressure without hurting me.

We have a four year old golden retriever. When he is inside we do nothing outside of pat him on the head. He is mostly an outside dog with 75 acres to wander around in. Funny thing is with all the land to explore, he seldom ventures past him being able to see the house. Go figure.

My big dog is a massive chewer. He craves hard things to knaw on. So I keep him well stocked with XL elk antlers. Fabric toys don't last more than a couple minutes, and he doesn't have any interest in plastic or rubber toys like Kongs. But he loves antlers.

Luckily, being so big, he's also pretty low energy (lazy). So he's content to just alternate between napping and gnawing all day long.

Our lab is pretty chill, though he does get multiple walks every day regardless of the weather.
Inside, some of the things we do:

• Treats stuffed inside an Orbee-Tuff ball, we put treats that are larger than the hole, so he has to work to get them out.
  
• Frozen Kong with some peanut butter.
  
• MIL likes to put him in a stay, while she hides treats around the house, then gives him the “Find it” command.
  
• Nylabones and other various toys.
  
• Asking him to pick up things, like a sock I’ll drop on purpose while doing laundry.
  
• He has a nightly routine before bedtime where he puts away each toy he had out during the day in a big bucket, then tricks such as left paw, right paw, high-five, bang, sad, crawl…
  

Sad:

Moose is pretty chill most of the time. He usually gets walked about 5 miles or more per day, so that probably helps some, but most of the time at home he is happy to just curl up on the couch with somebody, follow the kids around, or of course be directly underfoot in the kitchen whenever somebody is cooking.

He does have sporadic bursts of energy where he wants to play, and we've found that ropes work the best and last the longest. Most toys he shreds in short order (although I have to say, for a puppy, he's been very good about confining his chewing to his own stuff and not ours). My wife bought him this heavy-duty Nerf duck earlier this week with an elastic neck that you could pull back and launch it across the room. It seemed very robust, and we had great fun playing with it...until he decapitated it and eviscerated the stuffing out of the body by day two.

My Chihuahua is mostly a couch potato when he's inside .He is obsessed with chasing Squirrels so that's where he gets his exercise .

I have one beagle left after what at one time was a pack of four. My kids love to play hide the peanut butter cracker. We would hide ritz crackers with peanut butter all over our two story house. We would keep score of which dog found the most crackers. My kids are pretty good at hiding crackers, but you cannot outsmart a beagle nose. With one dog left and she is an old gal, we only play on the first floor these days.
One downside of this game is once a guest had food inside their luggage. The guest couldn't outsmart the beagle nose.
