The focus will include possible overreach by U.S intelligence agencies against Americans, China security concerns, and if the U.S. mishandled the federal response to COVID during the height of the pandemic.
The freshly installed Republican majority on Tuesday is expected to approve several review panels once Congress reconvenes on Tuesday including the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, with a specific emphasis on President Joe Biden's administration, as first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
'We are so serious, it's not just a goal, it's a rule,' Greene tweeted on Sunday,
The subcommittees are considered a concession to a small but vocal minority of Republicans who don't approve of Rep. Kevin McCarthy's bid to become the next Speaker of the House.
The rules will not be passed by the House until a speaker is elected on Tuesday and there are credible concerns whether McCarthy will have the necessary 218 votes to win on the first ballot. …”
