Yep, that's why I think we're leaning toward it not being a spotting scope as listed, but some kind of IR illuminator. Unless there's some kind of scintillation counter internally (unlikely), that is a projection lens, not an objective.

So why didn't you contact the seller for model numbers, etc?

Maybe you could google the image and get a hit.
