In spite of his cognitive deficits is he happy?
My Uncle who was a retired Minister with progressive dementia which began follow cardiac bypass surgery and ended 15 years later. He always had a positive attitude and smiled alot. You smile alot and let it go. Think about the good times. Very often music from the past will jog their memories for a time.
