Yeah, this is flagrant boasting. I have other grandchildren, but she lives in our basement and I see her everyday so I am close to her. She knows how to get what she wants from me because I am a big softy. I get scolded for spoiling her. Her name is Penelope Darthfuster and she's asleep on my lap right now.

You keep doing what you're doing and enjoy every day with her.

Precious.
My youngest daughter is 15 mo old & has her 'Papa' (wife's dad) wrapped.

We were leaving to head to my office Christmas party on Saturday afternoon. Went to give her a hug & she pretty much swatted me away, because she had her 'Bop'

Anyone who scolds you for spoiling her does not understand that's what grandpa's are for.

ETA: I have grandsons (no granddaughters yet). Their parents tell me that they have "strict rules" regarding sweets, which I completely ignore. I have a stash of candy and always make sure we have ice cream and those graham cracker cones on hand when they visit. When the parents complain, I just say "Your rules don't apply to grandpa." I know how you feel. Take advantage of it. Your story reminds me of a bumper sticker I had years ago:

If I'd known having grand-kids would be this much fun, I'd have had them first.

Grandkids are for spoiling; even more so for great grandkids (4).

Very cute!

I just checked my copy of The Grandparents Handbook and Section 2A clearly states that Grandfathers are required to spoil their Grandchildren, Section 2B states the same rule applies to Grandmothers. Smile

I have 13 grandkids, I spoil them all every chance I get.

Mrs DF and I only had boys. So I only knew what that was like. There was fighting and rough-housing, little cars, big cars, home crafted stick swords, weapons of all kinds.......Jr DF #2 actually shot JR DF #1 in the back with an arrow he made and it stuck in his flesh Eek. They were noisy and rambunctious. They loved go carts and lost countless pieces of my tools.

Then one of them married a young lady and tw years later came Penelope. They moved into our basement to save for a house (which plans we have modified). So I have watched her grow and we have developed quite a relationship. She is so fascinatingly feminine. She loves her glittery pink shoes and her princess doll. Her voice is soft and her movements delicate and careful. I've never seen anything like it. lol

Anyway, I know I'm spoiled. One day her parents will be in their own home and though Mimzy and Papa will live just down the lane, we won't see her as frequently. All of my other grandchildren are boys. Big Grin
