The brits run a smaller in comparison and consequently tighter intelligence apparatus. The leaks came from this side of the pond. Besides, they have nothing to gain from making Trump look bad. Nothing.

Working with factions of the MoD is not "easy" right now.

Senator Patrick "Leaky" Leahy has been caught several times. One time he was given a photocopy that had a stay mark on it. The once given the press had that same mark.

Tom Clancy had a character in a novel develop a "canary." This was adding comments that were so inflammatory that they would be quoted by the leaker. Having several version it was easy to identify the leak.

No doubt there are Obama sympathetic employees that want to hurt Trump. Then there's the type that like to be courted by the media.

I wonder if the same British government officials that are incensed by these leaks now were similarly concerned when every private Trump conversation was leaked. It doesn't take huge intelligence training/skills to anticipate that if their were leaks in the WH and in the various agencies, eventually someone besides Trump would get burned.

Obviously, you did not live during WWII. The Press was very careful during that conflict to not publish material that was obviously secret and could aid the enemy if released. They did it because they were good Americans and wanted our forces to succeed. Para is right--there are no members of the Press any more who have any allegiance to the United States of American and any desire to avoid assisting its enemies. Traitors all.
