It's all in good fun.

Taking down monuments, changing school names, changing sports team names, not teaching history in school will not change the facts. Most of our history was good, some not so good. We learn from both.

There is no one alive in this country today that "bears the pain of slavery" historically or otherwise.

To me the serpentine handle = serpentine wall is a contrived stretch.

If you have ever seen a sword handle they often have a swirl design where a braided fine wire is holding a softer handle material to the inner workings of the handle. Others are just spiral wrapped material around the inner handle design.

I guess a baseball bat handle must be banned because it resembles a serpentine wall too at this school!

Afternoon talk show host on 610 WTVN Columbus Ohio talked about Columbus State taking down a statue of Columbus and putting it in storage. They said they had been considering that for some time. The talk show host said the next logical conclusion would be to drop the name Columbus from the school and eventually rename the city. He is not in favor of that, just pointing out how they think and we better speak up soon and put an end to this bs.

How is it that 0.5% of the population is making decisions for everyone? No, I'm not referring to elected officials.

The whole Christopher Columbus statue has been a topic of debate way back when I went there in the mid 1990s

The local news here in Bismarck had a story about a street named for a Confederate Cavalry officer who later worked for the railroad. Yes he was from Virginia and went to the Point.
When asked if they are going to consider changing the names, the mayor stated absolutely not.

How long until some whiny ninny in VA realizes that the Virginia Military Institute, a state supported college, is essentially a Confederate memorial all on its own, right next to a school half named after Robert E Lee?
