Botched Execution in Tennessee aka Come Back to the Five and Dime, Black Jack Ketchum, Black Jack Ketchum
Just cut her throat open. Murderers should be killed the same way they killed their victim.
Or just throw them into the sea.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all, at all. Almost certainly due to the incompetence of the team: Sedative, Curare-analog, KCl, in that order. Did no one notice that she wasn't fully sedated after the initial drug? That she wasn't paralyzed? That her arm was swelling after the first injection? All of the above indicating to a first-year resident that they weren't in a patent vessel and infiltrated the drugs. Followed by a second round of drugs, without indicating that anything was changed. Was a physician or phlebotamist even on the team?
But if you were inclined to conspiracies...
Several things stand out. That's not garden-variety incompetence, that's historically monumental incompetence, for a procedure with literally the world watching. Secondly, an all-female team (at least partly consisting of guards) was requested by the inmate and her lawyers. Not a usual request. Thirdly, no last meal, and likely no fluids. Making a viable blood vessel harder to find. And last, and most importantly, botching the administration of IV drugs is the easiest medical magic trick to do, even with someone watching over your shoulder (if no one calls a time out for the previous symptoms explained): hit the vessel correctly, draw back to fill the catheter, observed, and before taping it down push that millimeter further to perforated the vein - residents do it all the time, by accident. No one could blame you. And Voilá! You are now in muscle tissue. Anything you inject goes straight there. You'll still have a massive bolus of barbiturates and potassium chloride. But it won't kill you, at least not immediately. And with prompt medical intervention you might survive. Probable? Occam's Razor says not. Possible? Imminently.

They did away with the three-drug protocol a while ago, in 2024. And changed to a single-drug protocol, just a heavy dose of the sedative pentobarbital. A single sedative, for execution. How stupid is that?

Very, if you intend to reliably kill someone with drugs. She'll likely be fit as a fiddle in a week with respiratory support. Unless, by chance, someone is equally incompetent at that...

I always thought it would be neat if they used a heavy sedative to knock them out, one that would not kill but induce a really bad migraine/hangover effect.
While unconscious, move them to a basement that has been set up like “Hell” would be for a movie set. Open flames, pyrotechnics, about 110 degrees. Have some folks dressed up like Satan’s minions and as the convict regains consciousness they do a “welcoming” committee kind of thing hazing/harassing the newly “condemned soul”. Really play it up for a day or two while the convict freaks out and totally breaks mentally.
Then turn up the lights, take off the demon masks and everyone shout “fooled ya!”.
Give them a day back in their cell, and kill them for real the next morning.
I’m guessing the bleeding heart liberals would take exception to that idea though…

It was a man doctor and he was the same Dr that botched an execution barely 4 months ago in May. That prisoner got a 1 year reprieve.
Sounds like that Doctor has some ‘splainin to do.
This chick will be wasting air on this planet for years.

He is probably too incompetent to do anything else.

Started July 1, 2026, Idaho's primary method of execution is by firing squad. Cheaper and more effective than drugs.

Fortunately, not a lot of doctors focus their efforts on killing people.
Not sure how many people would want that job.

Probably should hire an executioner and not a medical doctor. Different skill set. Progressives so thoroughly control the parameters of this debate that we might as well concede capital punishment. Every execution is labeled 'botched' and they have figured out how to dehydrate themselves and evade the injections.
