comet24Ever wonder how strong a grown male North American bison can be?
You don't realize how massive these creatures are until you see one up close.
Hiking in Yellowstone I heard something moving in the bushes next to the trail. I turned around and one walked out onto the trail less than 10 feet from me. As I backed up he just turned and walked down the trail away from me.

A good reminder why I dislike most big game hunting. It's all fun and games until something goes down and has to be processed.
That works out to close to a pound of meat a day for two years, and that's if you eat it every day.
Seems like that much high-quality food would be worth the effort. Did you do anything with the hide?

I chase fluffy cows every year on my trip to the Badlands/Black Hills area. When I came through Custer last year this guy was on the opposite side of the road. He was fine with me sitting in my pickup watching him. I've never understood how people think they can get out and get close to them.

Rey HRHWent on a Yellowstone Park tour.
This guy was way below us across the stream. Then he started to cross it.
He climbed up pretty quickly. I went back to the safety of the bus.
When he crested, then I went back out and took a pic.
