We stayed a week at one in Arizona. Beautiful house, extremely clean and the host was fabulous.
My wife has stayed at a similar place in California. Much the same experience. We have, Covid19 permitting, yet another reservation in Idaho.
Our daughter works for a travel site and, when you have a problem, she’s the one you call.
Her advice was to only look at the high rated places. She was correct.
When we added things up, the high rated place was cheaper then a hotel and the food costs were low. It was also a heck of a lot quieter.

EdmondUsed them last summer on a trip to DC. Wish I used them the previous winter on that trip to DC, would've saved me a bunch of money instead of going to a hotel. Not just the hotel but also the Lyft/Uber trips to/from in the mornings/evenings. Ended up with a Airbnb walking distance to campus so I saved commuting costs.
It was a place where I had a room and bathroom to my own. I had no need for anything else, ate out every meal. Only time I can say I had dinner at a bar 4 straight nights.
