May require a camera to see it, depending on where you are. I was just outside and could make out a couple shafts of light to the north, so it’s visible pretty far south. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Seeing the aurora first hand is on my bucket list. I have seen reports of folks seeing some locally, and tho I have looked a few times and even driven to higher elevation I didn't see shit! Reports say it may be possible tomorrow evening too. Good luck to those of you who like to look to the skies. The camera on our phones can bring out the colors even more. ------------------ The plural of anecdote is not data. -Frank Kotsonis

It's playing hell with radio transmissions. Not much visible here though at the moment. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I saw it. It was kinda faint, but definitely a discernable red hue moving around in the northern sky. We saw it two nights ago, too, and there was some green down near the horizon as well. It wasn't as sharply defined as the pictures I've seen from AK and Canada, but still pretty awesome!

Well, I tried, but I didn't see much after the first couple rays of light. A friend of mine in central Illinois sent me some ridiculous pictures from his back yard. Purple and red, the whole sky. Saw some similar pictures posted taken in Sedona.
Supposed to be a comet tomorrow around sunset here as well. I'll look up the details tomorrow and post those in case anyone wants to try to see. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I'm in Lehigh Valley of PA. Too much city lights to see anything. However, friends who live nearby, north of the ABE cities, snapped some amazing pics that captured the interesting colors. --Tom The right of self preservation, in turn, was understood as the right to defend oneself against attacks by lawless individuals, or, if absolutely necessary, to resist and throw off a tyrannical government.

I saw a little at home, but I had to go to work at the Port of Tacoma. Had my camera pointed in a darkish direction, but I'm surrounded by 10,000 floodlights on 50 foot poles, so I doubt I caught anything but Jupiter, planes, and clouds forming.

For real? |
NEOhio. Worked tonight. Nothing in my area. My son sent me pics from his mom's house which was only 10 miles away. I had our drone guy send up the drone to the max height allowed and tried the different camera options on it. Nope. Nada. Not minority enough!

Saw it faintly from suburban St Louis. The hints of red and green were *just* visible with the naked eye and showed clearly on camera. A pleasant surprise.

There's a couple of Aurora forums that I follow. Really interesting that a lot of the pics from the lower 48 have so much red in them. We usually have green with some purple. When the reds show up, Aurora Chasers up here go crazy. Therewere a few reds out last night. I just wonder why the color difference further south. Northern sky was bright purple when viewed through my iphone. Grabbed a few pics of it. Pretty neat. I think it's supposed to be out again tonight. They were crazy bright here in southern Minnesota for about half an hour or so. So bright that you could see the greens and reds with your eyes. I chase them a lot and its rare to see that much color without the camera. I've only processed 2 of the nearly 150 shots I took last night. I'm not hosting anything online right now but if someone wants to email my profile email I'll send the two I've done so far to be posted.
