This strikes me as rather sad. Who knows if the kid had any sort of education, or the level of coercion and salesmanship they hit him with. And what 17 y/o doesn't make mistakes. After all, you're gonna live forever still back then. I'm not saying he's not responsible. But it is sad.

Yup, teenagers can make some really bad decisions. Sometimes, like in this case, you don't get a do-over.

He sold the wrong kidney. Shoulda kept the good 1 & sold the bad 1.

Wait til his iPotato is a few generations old & starts getting throttled, then he’ll be real regretful.

He should get into PR64's karma - in the USA some people randomly give this iStuff away - no kidney needed in exchange.

Of course it's sad. How can anyone not be sympathetic to this guy? Yeah, he made his own bed, but man, that really blows.

No, he deserves zero sympathy. That does not mean he deserves ridicule; he needs none. His miserable existence sees to that. He will be reminded every second of what is left of his life of the result of poor decision making.

Perhaps not sympathy, but "empathy" most assuredly. At least from me.
