ibandaThat is great!
Tesla has 134,000 employees
Space X has 22,000 employees
X has 1,500 employees
Yes, Musk has piles of money, but his enterprises are keeping thousands of Americans afloat with high paying jobs. I'm fine with him being Richie Rich as long as he pays some taxes on his salary and when he sells stock.

In March of last year when Musk was in the middle of DOGE the liberals somehow drove Tesla stock down to $233 and I bought some. Sold it a few months later at $400. I wish now I had bought so much more! I'll take the win and enjoy the AR and MP5 clone I bought with the profits.

chellim1All they have to do ... is wait until he's dead.
What they don't get in estate taxes will end up in a foundation. Look at every foundation started by a capitalist, such as the Ford Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. They all end up supporting left-wing causes.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Fly-SigIf they don't want someone to have money, don't buy his product.
Don't buy a Tesla. Don't subscribe to Starlink.
Don't buy from Amazon. Don't shop at Wallmart.
The only way people get wealth is by other people giving money in exchange for the product.
If the argument is government subsidies or contracts are problematic, then reduce government. Though the left loves big government, so idk how they reconcile that one. Especially wrt Elon saving us from climate change with electric cars subsidized with tax dollars.

gearhoundsElon is nothing but supervillain level evil to the unwashed socialist cretin in the USA. Musks obvious value as a businessman, entrepreneur, and as we discovered, an outspoken lover of this country all mean nothing to the left. As far as they’re concerned, he might as well start shaving his head, get a sporty facial scar, and a white cat…

Bingo!
I don't have any problem with wealth earned by voluntary exchange of goods/services.
I do have a problem with being forced to subsidize someone else's choice.

No... he's the world's first former trillionaire.
SPCX closed the day @ 153. Has to be over $170 for trillionaire status.

fwbulldogI got into an argument with a dumbass leftist (I known, I know) when I told him that if he wants to tax Elon's unrealized capital gains then I want to tax their home equity (every year). They didn't like that. "That's not the same thing at all, he's a trillionaire. Nobody needs that much money." Yea, asshole, you're the one driving a $100k car sitting on $1M in home equity. You don't "need" that much, right? I mean, nobody should have $1M in unused home equity, you're a millionaire. You're the bad guy (according to Bernie). Remember that home equity line of credit you took out to build the pool? Yea, that's pretty much the same thing rich people do when they borrow against securities to generate buying power.
Like Elon is just sitting around on a pile of cash, hoarding it from poor people. If only we could just take Evil Elon's stolen dollars!
God, they are stupid.

Well, he is an 'African American', so at least he's got that going for him in the eyes of the left.

Oh wait, I forgot...The left only likes 'African Americans' that they can portray as victims!

RightwireIs this a surprise? The super left ALWAYS wants the profits of the successful from hard work and effort, while staunchly protecting their own ill gotten gains.

1s1kExactly why you can’t tax unrealized gains. It was shocking to see so many adults not even get the basic concept that he doesn’t have a trillion dollars sitting in his bank account.

AglifterAnyone who wants government to do more than provide just enough stability to maintain social order, is mentally ill, or wildly ignorant.
There is no such thing as a rational, economically literate socialist.
I don’t know what the solution is. They seem easier to rehabilitate that pedos, but their opinions are of equal value.

Very Likely that Musk has paid more taxes than all of SF combined...

It would be interesting to know exactly what is included in those numbers, only personal income tax, personal income tax plus their percentage share of their company’s’ corporate income taxes, or ?
In any case, it probably does not include the income taxes paid by all the people that are employed thanks to their efforts.

They believe simultaneously that humans running corporations are greedy assholes who only seek their own fortune and power, while humans in government are benevolent souls who seek only the best life for everybody.
