I am looking to ditch my padded Blackhawk range belt for a different one. This Blackhawk snap buckle just doesn't hold the 'cinch', gets loose and falls off my waist.

Requirements; Doesn't have to be padded, just looking for something wide and fairly stiff to hold all the range accoutrements.
1. Able to attach molly type pouches/holsters. (strapped over the belt)
2. Must have a clip type buckle

I seem to recall there was a belt making member here but can't find where I bookmarked him??

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

That is the only belt I use as well but he requires a clip type buckle which the Wilderness does not have.

It sets the mark. Everyone else copies it.

Do you have one of those plastic buckles?

If you like the belt, and have everything set up already, why not just replace the buckle?

The Cobra style buckles work for me. I have one on my range belt and one on my duty belt.

If you want to go to a new belt, the big question is: Who much do you want to spend?
You can get a $30 belt, or you can get a $300 belt and everything in between.

Blue Alpha Gear double belt (liner with Velcro), with Cobra buckle.

I have one without Molle and it is great, and with the liner belt, I don't have to don/doff gear on the belt that's keeping my pants up.

If he wants MOLLE attachment, a Wilderness instructor's belt isn't it.

VTAC Skirmish belt with a VTAC cobra buckle belt is what I went with.

Added an Esstac double pistol/single rifle mag carrier, a Blue Force Gear dump pouch and "booboo" pouch for batteries, Leatherman, etc., and an RTI wheel for my holster. Still plenty of room left on the belt.

Really helps at classes.

I like this one, personally. Set it up once, and will keep holster, mags, exactly where you want. I have zipties on either side of the holster to ensure it doesnt move.

Modularity of belts is the name of the game right now.

There's two different directions you can go:

- A belt with all your kit than you can put-on when ever. Usually these are a stiffer rigger-type belt and a sleeve with MOLLE/PALS loops goes over the rigger belt. The rigger-belt is usually sold separately, thus you can choose how stiff or, pliable you need.
These are three very popular options:

VTAC Brokos Belt
ATS (former LIghtfighter, Padded War Belt
Velocity Systems (former Mayflower R&C) OUB I've used for awhile with a stiff rigger belt from Wilderness Tactical, well designed, lightweight, maybe too light it you like to carry a lot.

- The latest option and one that's very popular with firearm instructors and certain SOF units, are the integrated belts; outer belts which attach to the belt on your pants. On your pants, you'd wear a belt that has the loop-fabric (soft Velcro) running around the outside of the belt, usually a low-profile design. Then the larger outer belt, which has all your kit on it, has the more aggressive hook-fabric on the inside, that matches up to the loop fabric on your pant belt, thus creating a slimmer system that isn't bulky, nor rides up or, wobble around. Very nice if you shoot for a living or, doing a lot of running around. These are pricy but, can be worth it, if you shoot a lot of, seeking better load carriage.
Most popular options:

AWS Assault Belt System
Crye Precision Modular Riggers Belt Currently using, pleased with it so far.
Ronin Tactics Shenshi Belt

I have both of what Corsair just described. Started with the battle belt. Works great but rides up and is bulky. Ended up with Esstac’s version of the second kind. Belt with the Velcro soft side through belt loops then stiff outer belt attaches using the other Velcro side.

It is a no brainer to me. That second style wins easily. I only keep the battle belt style because I spent decent money on them and I figure eventually I will karma one of them (I have 2). (Slow learner).

corsair nailed the 2 main approaches. There are lots of good choices available now.

After using the Vtac, I found I wanted:
* more rigidity
* better method to limit movement
* smaller format

The Volund Gear fit my needs.
