I’ll be in the KC/St Joe Missouri area next week, Monday through Wednesday for work. I’ve checked out a few restaurants on Trip Advisor, but wanted to get an idea from anyone local. Not looking super high end, but not fast food either. I was told to try Beaudroux’s in St Joe and q39 (I think that was the name) in kc. Any other places I should try?

Where in the KC area will you be? I work in the Power and Light District.

I can tell you right now that Q39 does great BBQ meats, but their $4 fries are a joke. If you are going to Westport and want BBQ, Char Bar is excellent and one of the few places I can get juicy BBQ beef. Another spot in those areas are Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ in either the Country Club Plaza (about 47/Cleaver II Blvd) or the Freighthouse (about 22/Main) next to Lidia's Kansas City (Lidia Bastianich's restaurant) and Grünauer German Cuisine.

Better question is what kind of cuisine are you looking for? Kansas City is in the middle of the US and we get everyone from everywhere here.
