Some kind of designator with an Aimpoint T2 on a GBRS Hydra mount looking over it.
Probably has a helmet with nifty gadgets on it for finding dirt bags in the dark in the back.

It's a Steiner eOptics DBAL (Dual Beam Aiming Laser) Cool

And I'm guessing that's a personal weapon...Billet Upper, BAD Lever, Raptor CH.

That video is the epitome of smooth and controlled.

The way he nonchalantly radioed it in was my favorite.

Tacoma PD fortunately is located in Pierce County, while not as Left as neighboring King County, they get a lot of firearms training and allowed to seek out additional training, along with using better gear. Aero Precision has done a lot of work on their rifles, along with several other firearms focused companies located in the PNW.

Interesting weaponry this guy had; not the typical dirtbag: 45 ACP pistol; 300 Blackout in what appears to be an SBR; and the 223 is something I’m not familiar with, and has a side charging handle. If he had the skills to go with the weapons, it could have turned out to be a lot worse.

And another perfect demonstration of why the patrol rifle is a better general law enforcement weapon than the shotgun. This incident will be highlighted during my next farther-than-usual-engagements training session.

“Done” doesn’t necessarily mean dead. In fact, law enforcement officers will usually stress that the purpose in shooting someone is not to kill them but to neutralize the threat they present.
In this case I would bet a nickel that the BG shot himself because after being hit by the officer’s bullet he knew it was over (or done, if we prefer) and didn’t want to be taken alive.

As far as I'm concerned that's a good thing.

As justified as it was the Officer won't have the guys death on him and saves taxpayer money.

They should all use the self checkout aisle.

Listen carefully, he says Shot fired not Shots

It appears to be a 10.5" Bear Creek side charging AR15 upper on an AR15 rifle lower.

(Therefore a SBR, likely unregistered.)

Does that have any magnification capability? It does not appear so. For me (age 71) hitting a man-sized target at 183 yds with ONE SHOT would be a huge challenge.

Looks like he has an unmagnified Aimpoint plus the DBAL. I would say no magnification.

It's a laser designator, not an optic. There's no magnification on laser pointers.

Think of it like a beefed up rifle version of Crimson Trace handgun grips, just including both a visible and an infrared laser.

But he would not have utilized the DBAL at 183 yards anyways; the visible laser can't be seen at that distance, and he has no means to view the IR laser (like through night vision).

Instead, he would have been using the Aimpoint red dot optic mounted on the top of the rifle to aim the rifle.

Based on the presence of the DBAL, I wouldn't be surprised if this guy was either a SWAT/ERT team member, or former military (or both). This DBAL laser unit is quite expensive, and not something that the average LEO would have much use for. But it's similar to the AN/PEQ-15 laser unit in widespread use by the military.
