Pipe SmokerBranston Pickle (UK relish)
tac mentioned Branston Pickle in the “Ploughman’s Lunch” thread:
https://sigforum.com/eve/forums...990083664#3990083664It’s the “pickle” in the bread, cheese, and pickle Ploughman’s Lunch.
But it’s so good, and so unusual (here in the US), that it deserves a thread of its own. None of my grocery stores have it, but I found it on Amazon for $8.44 per jar:
www.amazon.com/dp/B01HHBLJUY/r..._api_i_UfVqEbY5SM8NGIt would be a superb condiment for hotdogs. But also just by itself as a side dish. Some of it has the peculiar characteristic of being simultaneously soft, but crunchy.
About half way through my first jar I ordered two more jars. So good – highly recommended!

DJ_Bostonthey have a lot of things there that are good. Piccalilli is another one that is sometimes seen with a ploughman's lunch, and so are pickled walnuts.
England gets ripped for its food, but they do have good food there.

CassandraWe have Branston at home all the time. Besides as a necessary part of a Ploughmans Lunch, I like it on chess sammies, along with thin slices of real pickled onions. Goes well with all cheeses, anywhere. Find it on line, specialist English, Irish and Scottish shops and I have found it at Wegmans and Giant supermarkets, alongside Piccalilli mustard pickle. Also to be found in Ontario, Canada...
