We've been in our house about 6-7 weeks now, and the dishwasher does a piss poor job of getting the dishes clean. Almost to the point of having to wash the dishes to have it wash the dishes.

Maybe 10-15% of the time, it doesn't even dissolve the detergent tablet.

Have tried different wash modes, temperatures & detergents, to no avail.

I'm assuming it's this model: fgid2474qf
From the photos it looks very similar.

We love how quiet it is, with the very open plan between the kitchen & living rooms, but the wash performance sucks.

Also need to figure out how to lube the hinges as it creaks loudly & the door opens too far.

Appliance Brad foretold of poor performance of the newer DW's in the name of energy efficiency and water conservation.
That being said - have you checked the filter/screen to be clear - those will severely limit wash performance if clogged.

Is this a brand new unit 6 or 7 weeks ago?

Get rid of it!
We built a house New and used Fridgidaire appliance all had to be replaced in under 5 years. The dishwasher was the 1st to go about 3 years in same as yours just quit washing. Cleaned everything replaced the lines and nothing helped. Replaced it with a Bosch couldn't be happier.

Circulation, temperature, time - three legs of the stool.

Sounds like something's missing.

Is it hot when you open it while circulating?

Is the spray vigorous or wimpy?

Heat & time seem to be fine. It runs through a full cycle & dishes are dry when finished. It does take some time to get hot water in the kitchen, but I typically run the sink until it has hot water prior to starting the DW.

Unknown on spray quality, the DW is so quiet it's hard to tell. Nothing is displaced on the rack like it was with the cheap builder grade DW in our last house.

As Snapping Twig said, three legged stool. But I define it as:

Thermal Action- water temp
Mechanical Action- water spraying arounf
Chemical Action- water softness or hardness, amount and type of detergent, rinse aid.

On cleanability complaints, until you dismiss water hardness, it's a water issue. Do you have a water softener and does it actually work? I'd start with a water hardness test, that's the first thing I would do if I was running a call on this unit.

We do have a water softener, and it definitely works.

Our GE dishwasher had this problem. The fix was a through cleaning. Luckily, I found a video that eaxplained.

This vidio is for your model. Please review it and see if it could help.

We recently bought a Maytag dishwasher, model number MDB8969SDM. Since we are on a septic, we have always used a liquid detergent. Wife complained it was not cleaning well. I suggested trying the powder equivalent detergent. Like night and day, all of a sudden she is very happy with the new DW. I don't know if this is, or solves, your problem, for just FWIW.

I recently moved into an apartment and it has a new low end(but not the lowest)Kenmore (Whirlpool made) dishwasher in it, and it's shockingly great! I used to have to rinse off everything in the two different ones I had in my house. Not any more. The one that was in the house when we bought it was slightly better than the Kenmore we replaced it with, but not much, stuff still had to be hand washed to be sure it would be cleaned. And even the first one, a Kitchen Aid, was loud and noisy, not this one. It's barely audible in the next room. A friend of mine just had a new cheap GE put into his rental house where his daughter and her husband live, and it's noisier than my machine is, but it cleans just as well. Sounds like the OP's machine needs cleaning or the pump is bad.

Haven't had a chance to fully get through the clean up process in the above video. Going to try to get to that today/tomorrow.

I've seen the multiple recommendations for the Maytag MDB8969SDH on here.
Is the MDB8959SFZ equivalent/comparable? Doesn't seem that the 8969 is as available locally.

Hoping it doesn't come the worst case where we need to replace it, but preparing, just in case.
