Striker in waiting |
For anyone familiar with Mission BBQ (I think they're in 20 states now?), you know they're blatantly pro-military and pro-America. That story the other week about the libtards freaking out about the National Anthem being played at a diner... when I saw the headline, I thought it was going to be a Mission BBQ story - because they do that, too. Every day at noon. That's the kind of place it is. I was a bit annoyed, while I was waiting for my dinner last night, to be subjected to "Born in the USA" playing over their speakers. I had just enough time to pull up their contact form and rattle off a little note about paying attention to the lyrics before adding songs to their in-store playlists. I even made a crack about their next move being to hire Jane Fonda as a spokesperson. I didn't expect more than a canned response, but I just got this in my inbox - less than 18 hours later, and on a Monday morning, no less: Rob, Thank you for your support and emailing me to bring this to my attention. I will contact our music partner to ensure we scrutinize the song list more thoroughly. I appreciate you looking out for us. Sincerely, Marty Atkinson Area Director of Operations Eastern Maryland Go TOGETHER Their stock just went way up in my book. Companies like this do still exist. Thought it was worth sharing. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

I went after jjones posted about it a few months ago. Not only was the food and atmosphere great but the service was outstanding. The employees reminded me of Chick-fil-a employees. “Everybody wants a Sig in the sheets but a Glock on the streets.” -bionic218 04-02-2014

Optimistic Cynic |
Why is it that these pro-America, pro-family, etc. restaurants always have so much better service and food than the run-of-the-mill wokeified chains? One might suspect that adopting right ways of thinking bolsters ones humanity and respect for ones fellow man. Or is it the other way around?

Let me know if it's worth the schlep to Oviedo. Is it better than 4-Rivers? הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I travel regularly for work to many states and 4Rivers is some of the best BBQ I have ever had. I went to Mission BBQ in Sterling,VA while I was there and NO it is not better than 4Rivers IMO.

Thanks for the confirmation. On paper (looking at the online menus), 4-Rivers is more appealing to me. There's a 4-Rivers much closer to my home than the Mission, so you saved me a trip. If I happen to be in the Oviedo area, I'll try the Mission, but it doesn't look like it's worth while for a special trip. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

You have cow? I lift cow! |
Used to go to the one close to FT Meade for lunch a lot. Soldiers everywhere, get to stand for the anthem at noon, and the food is dam good. I miss it. Owner or manager was always coming around talking with people and he'd set you up with something he thought you might be missing.

We have a ton of great BBQ available here in Texas, so I understand the need for good ones to expand if they can and enlighten other parts of the country. Don't know anything about Mission BBQ but hopefully they can learn of great Texas BBQ.

Thank you Very little |
I will agree, 4 Rivers isn't going to be beat by many BBQ places, Mission isn't one of them, however, it is better than the next closest BBQ which is Sonnys.... Will try again but last time the bbq was good, but not a fan of their sauces. If you are already over here then I'd drop in, I wouldn't make a special trip for it, they have another location, might be closer to you, 6324 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32812 and one in Lady Lake if you fancy a drive.

I love their shredded/pulled chicken but I prefer more of a vinegar based bbq sauce. I still like their sauces and understand the place they originated from and their preferences.
