I've traditionally been more than a little dismissive of Harbor Freight products--particularly their tools.

Looks like I'm going to have to rethink that position.

I've got this Garage Remediation Project going. Long story short: Had to lose the bench upon which I had my chop saw, then figured out I needed the chop saw. "Ok, I guess I'll need a chop saw stand," I thought. Started researching it. Much to my surprise the answer turned out to be Harbor Freight's Hercules Professional Miter Saw Stand.

If you search on that stand, and reviews by The Den of Tools, particularly one where he compares it to a comparatively-priced DeWalt stand: It looks pretty damn good.

So I went and picked one up. Bonus: A coupon in a HF circular got me 20% off, so $150.

All I can say is I'm impressed. Seriously impressed. This thing is as stable as the big ol' bench upon which the saw used to reside, deploys easily, and folds up for storage just as easily. Hell, even the flippin' wheels are impressive. (They appear to be on sleeve bearings, and they're heavy.)

Here it is, with my 20+ year old Makita 10" sliding-table compound mitre saw mounted, in use:

Folded up:

And stashed in a corner:

Even with a bum knee I was able to get it back out, yesterday, set it up, and cut a piece of wood for the project.

Interesting, I inherited a sliding miter saw & dont have a good place for it, will have to keep an eye out for something like this.

My current 'workbench' is a collapsing table that I make do with for now.

Thanks for a timely post. I have a chop saw that needs something like that.
BTW, take care using plastic coverings. They can trap moisture where you don’t want it.

I did a couple hours or better research on chop saw stands. I don't think this one can be beat for even $100 more.

Yeah, I know about that. This has worked well on that saw, in the garage, for the 20+ years I've had the saw.

What I really need, now, is a breathable cover that'll fit over the whole thing. I think a trip to the fabric store and buttering-up my wife is in order Smile

You're talking about the peel-off 20% off coupon on the front? Yeah, found that out when I went to check out. (Yeah, yeah: I didn't read the fine print.) "Of course it doesn't" I replied. She grabbed a circular from under her cash register, thumbed through it, and found a coupon inside she could scan to get me the same 20% off.

ETA: I'll be damned if I can find it. Sorry.
