We may be moving to E-town KY next year for a job. I lived in Lexington for over a decade in the past, but haven't been back in almost as much time. We are not very familiar with the Elizabethtown area other than a few visits to Bardstown. We were in E-town last month for a site visit, and it seemed pretty sparse compared to where we are right now.

Looking to query the collective Sigforum knowledge base for
1.) opinions/thoughts on the area; things to do for a family with a small child.
2.) any outdoor ranges in the area that allow more than static paper punching - i.e. drawing from the holster/shooting on the move. Any ranges in the area that host IDPA/IPSC/USPSA type shooting events.

My quick Google search didn't reveal much in the way of #2. I'm thinking if we do end up moving down there I'd probably need to look into buying some land and seeing about setting up my own little private range.

Thanks!

I was stationed at Ft. Knox back in the mid 80s, remember going down to Elizabethtown a few times - the U.S. Calvary store was near there if I remember correctly. I believe its closed now though.

Up the road (30 mins or so) you do have Knob Creek Range.

My son and I rode through there back in August on a MC trip. Looked like they were renovating downtown. there were some nice shops and seemed quaint.
