Oh I have, all nice and black too. Though white ones seem to be the preference for off-duty. I have also seen shirts, pants, and jackets from previous airlines being worn, and plain old Walmart off the shelf slacks. Of course none of the blues actually matched the uniform color. I even saw a captain at another airline wearing matching blue Carhartt cargo pants and jacket.

Nothing surprises me. When it comes to "customization" of the uniform.

Not a single one. LOL. I have much better shoes for running, and much cooler ones for overnights. I like to blend in as much as possible.

Seems like even a one hour class on marksmanship if NOTHING else....would at least get them on the paper at a shooting range. Proper stance, proper grip, proper site picture ? It's not rocket science and we have to assume they are at least of average intelligence since they learned to fly...

Haha I can assure you they are not just “appointed” and handed a badge and gun. While I don’t know the finer points of their qualification, and prob couldn’t tell you if I did, it is a multi day course at a federal LE facility and involves more than just shooting. Flight deck defense is a serious topic nowadays and everyone I’ve flown with has taken that responsibility seriously, there’s no room for “cowboys” or mall ninjas. And no one should worry at all about pilots being armed, if they do have to use their weapon it’s because a lot of security layers have been breached and some serious shit is going down. It’s a last line of defense.
