my Redwing Irish Setters look rough, but are still water tight (bought in 1987) and warm, and on the 4th sole, and probably the last, since I rarely wear them anymore

I have pair of black 3/4 height boots, also redwings, that are one sole #2

rarely wear them either, since I no long am in the meat biz,

and the last resole was done 'off' as in there is a slight tilt to them on the sides, so it takes a few steps to get used to them
they are not as strong or lasting as the setters, usually the leather would rot on one side before the 2 sole was worn out
