I second (third) the vote for Thermapen... instant temperature reading, makes my grilling that much more satisfying.

Would you tell me about your rice cooker? I'm considering one but really know nothing.
Thanks!

armedprofPorsche 911.
I bought it December 18th. It has changed driving... I guess the commercial from my youth was correct - There is no Substitute.
On the budget friendlier side, Dash Egg Cooker. Makes perfect hard boiled eggs every time. AMAZING!

RogueJSKA single cup pour-over coffee maker.
Way better quality than using a Keurig for a quick cup, and much easier to clean and faster to brew than my French Press for only a slight decrease in comparative flavor quality.
Paired with an electric kettle, it has become my go-to for daily coffee making.
I now only use my French Press when I'm heading out and need to make a 32 oz Yeti full of coffee to go, and I haven't touched my Keurig in ~6 months.

Which one are you using?
I've been using a single pour over, the OXO one. I got it when I decided to limit myself to one cup of coffee at a time. I have not used my Technivorm Moccamaster lately, but it's always on standby when I need to serve more than one cup to others.
The awesome thing about the OXO pour over is the water basin. It has multiple holes, quite similar to the Technivorm. I heat up the appropriate amount of water, pour it in the basin and it produces an amazing result.
