They don't. They think they're illustrating what they see as absurdity (but it's not absurd) by being absurd.

Thanks. Somehow I missed that the absurdity was the point. _______________________ "Wow... that's, uh... loud."

Something you have to remember about Kentucky politics. People like Marzian, Kathy Stein, and the lefty minority at the state house, are just that, the minority. They are the fringe. The loonies. The whack jobs. Every so often, they throw a legislative temper tantrum just like this. And they get their asses waxed. They throw up a bill requiring registration of assault weapons, 7 round mag limits, and at the end of the session, we get expanded protections on the Castle Doctrine, get restrictions lifted on where you can carry concealed, etc, and none of their shit passes. The legislature bitch slaps them in the other direction of where they want to go to teach them a lesson. Case in point is police seized firearms. Used to be, an agency could do whatever they wanted to with seized firearms. Louisville destroyed all of their guns. Stein threw a fit because everyone wasn't destroying them, so a law was passed that agencies had to auction them off. Places like Louisville still refused to sell them because of "the children". They warehoused thousands of guns, and whenever audited, they claimed, "WE'll get around to it". So, Stein again put forth a bill to destroy all guns. The legislature responded with the most current version, that when an agency gets to 50 seized guns, they have to transport them to Kentucky State Police Supply section, and the guns are turned in to the state police. The state police holds massive quarterly auctions of firearms to licensed dealers. The money is then in turn put into a fund to buy body armor for police agencies. That is how things work with the loons in Kentucky. They rarely get off without a major slap in the face of this stuff. They sulk off for a couple of years, then pull some shit like this because they forgot the lesson they learned a couple of years earlier from a previous tantrum. To be honest, I would not doubt that the bill for free guns will pass. They have a republican controlled house, and many, many pro-gun dems. It won't ever go into law, but it'll probably get passed as a "FUCK YOU" to the few lefties that are at the state house. Kentucky politics is so different than any place else.

I'm hoping to see them get bitch slapped hard for this childish outburst. The water in Washington won't clear up until we get the pigs out of the creek~Senator John Kennedy
