Visiting Daughter and Son in Law’s new digs and escaping the zoo that’s Maui right now. Would like to get together with any members for lunch or dinner if they’re anywhere near Spring Hill Place vicinity. Nice area, by the way. Everybody’s so nice it almost scares me. Smile

Yep, just around the corner about 20 minutes away. How long are you in the area?

Return date is open so it mostly has to do with my access to a vehicle, but with a few days notice I can make it anywhere in the area.

What's going on in Maui now? Hopefully heading there in September

I'm in west Nashville. So that means I'm about 8 hours away from Spring Hill these days.

My family lived in Franklin in the late 70's & early 80's. I dropped out of college a couple times in the early 80's to work 9 month stints at a manufacturing plant in Franklin (the company is still in operation, and I did graduate from Auburn in '85--War Eagle!!). Worked 2nd shift, and a number of the workers were from Bethesda or Columbia. Sometimes we'd hang out after work, then head over to the Poplar House in Spring Hill to get something to eat around 4 or 5 am. The Poplar House was open 24 hours a day, and it was the only thing between Franklin & Columbia. Spring Hill was literally a one streetlight town back then. Long before the GM Saturn plant and all the ancillary growth.
The last time I drove through Spring Hill I was amazed at the growth. Not necessarily happy, but truly amazed.

P210, have a good trip. My parents live just a little way across the county line and I'm in that vicinity fairly frequently.

craglawnmanor, your memories are similar to mine. I grew up about 20-25 minutes SE of Spring Hill and had a lot of friends there (including the SH cheerleaders, who once did a cheer for me on the opposing team when I was at the foul line for free throw that didn't really matter). It's unrecognizable today in comparison.

I’m about 20 minutes north. I was here when the Saturn plant was built, I left and returned again in 2004. The growth in this area has been crazy.

Used to be. Lots to do around there. Enjoy your trip.

Even though they are STOOOOPID expensive it’s worth a walk through of Franklin Guns as they always had a helluva inventory.

If you are into cars take a day trip to the Corvette Museum or check out the Lane Motor Museum (I love the Lane)

The Frist is cool.

Check out some of the “Diners Drive In and Dive” places. Some are very good.

The Hermitage is interesting.

Franklin has some good restaurants but I would also check the gulch out downtown.

Also you must get some Nashville hot chicken and some chicken and waffles while there. Smile. I liked Hattie B’s but Princes, Pepperfire etc are all excellent. Now you may get shot at Princes but sacrifices and all. Smile.

I haven’t been there for a couple years and definitely pre COVID so things may have changed but enjoy your trip.
