We just killed Qassem Soleimani (Iranian General)
Best thing though is we finally have a President that isn’t afraid to kill our enemies when and where he finds them.

Perhaps another reason for the hit was to throw a wee bit of doubt into the small minds of the Norks. As in ‘keep it up and you might be next’

Technically, Rice is correct, because the prior administration never looked for that opportunity.
It has, however, been documented, that Obama told the Iranians about an Israeli plan to take him out, and prevented that.

So, a half truth, mixed with fully acting against the best interests of this country.

"Iraq's caretaker prime minister Adel Abdel Mahdi attends the funeral procession on Saturday in Baghdad. On Friday Mahdi warned the rocket strike would 'spark a devastating war in Iraq,' adding that the assault by the U.S. was 'a brazen violation of Iraq's sovereignty and blatant attack on the nation's dignity'"

Makes one wonder why we even try to help. Obviously the "People" of Iraq are ok with what is or simply cannot take care/control of themselves. There is surely enough guns and ammo to provide a regime change to something better if wanted.

Both GWB and Obama had the opportunity, and certainly the means, to take this POS out and declined. When Iran downed our drone Trump let it slide because it was unmanned but did state he was drawing a red line. Then one of ours gets killed and Trump takes care of business. I am two minds because when you pull a weed two pop up but these fools need to feel the might and reach of US power each and every time they harm a US citizen or member of our armed forces.

The Iraqi gov and everywhere south of Baghdad is Shia like Iran; Saddam and the much of the Muslim world is Sunni. Not a big surprise that the Iraqi gov officials are all sympathetic (more like beholden) to Iranian causes & issues while openly trying to play the national sovereignty-card.

Personally, I think we should bail out and let them get back to killing each other off w/o hindrance. It's what they seem to want.

Agreed, I have zero issues with GTFO of there.

But we have to protect our embassies, wherever they are.

BTW, da fuq's a "Qud"? Roll Eyes How is that pronounced?
The "q" is a consonant not found in the Western languages. It's kind of like a swallowed "g". The closest we have in English is just a "k". The "u" is just a vowel--it is not a part of a digraph with the "q" as would be the case in English. "Qud" would be pronounced "Kud" with a hard edge on the "K".

I spent 18 months in Iran, so have had some exposure to Farsi.

Can't make this shit up. I won't waste everyone's time posting the whole article...

"The actor and activist Jane Fonda and Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg protested against the assassination of Iranian general Qassem Suleimani and the escalating conflict with Iran at rally in Washington on Saturday.

Fonda, 82, a veteran of Vietnam-era activism who has been skirting arrest at weekly climate change protests close to the White House, joined an ad-hoc coalition of protest groups alarmed by US-Iranian tensions that have escalated since the Trump administration abandoned the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran three years ago."

{In reference to RHino}If I recall correctly bombing or shooting at a funeral is a popular way of taking out your enemy in the Middle East. It is also popular with Chicago street gangs, hence the drive through with bullet proof glass where you can quickly view the deceased and be on your way.

Iran and Iraq were doing a great job of eliminating each other's populations some years back, sadly we we giving aid to JUST one of them.

But she can't be saying that. If she's condemning Trump for taking the opportunity (she's "highly doubtful" that Trump did the right thing), then she's saying even if Obama had the opportunity, he wouldn't have taken it. There's no point to claim Obama never had an opportunity.

CNN is such a joke and so is anyone who watches it to hear what Rice thinks.

Well, because after all not killing the guy has led to such peaceful bliss in the region.
