Everyday that I walked with my Ma, I pass by one of the neighbors' house which has 5 pitbulls. Without fails, these incredibly aggressive dogs go crazy. I see dogs barking their normal barks, but these pitbulls just go totally nut. Without the metal fence keeping them in, they would no doubt maul us to pieces.

Here we go again. I'm kind of surprised "pit bull" isn't trigger phrase here on the board.

They did what they have been bred to do for generations and generations. You can recess traits in a certain breed, but those traits are still deep within that breed.

Out here in the country, I carry a G19 - 2/3s for people and 1/3s for animals.

There ARE many many cases of well kept (un-abused) pit bulls mauling and killing their owners and others for no apparent reason.

Unfortunately, that breed is ruined.

A minor browse indicates "It's believed that the dogs had been bred for fighting".

Or even know anything about them other that what you've read in the paper or heard on the news?

I've had several Pit Bulls, and they have all been great dogs.
I WILL get another one when my current one passes.

A dog of any breed that has been mistreated or is trained to fight will be a problem.

Chihuahua dogs bother me the most....
