Having grown up in MS and lived here most of my life, this is a comment I've often heard used toward people of my pigment persuasion.

Seems someone finally figured out that it's a racial "slur," and that were the opposite expression used (black boy), mayhem would ensue. But of course, per his coach, he didn't mean it as racist. It was just heat of the moment, y'dig? Nothing about color or race inferred. Just like it'd have been explained away if the white guy had called him a "black boy" in the middle of it all.

Double standards? We got 'em for you here in the NBA....

Why aren't the pay scales more equal in the NBA? Why do the black players get paid more than the white players and why aren't there an equal number of white players?

my oldest son is a “white boy”. Specifically he is a 6’8 rising senior in high school who is a division 1 basketball recruit. For the basketball fans, at his size, he plays guard...or small forward. He has been a Mavs fan his whole life and was first a Dirk and is now a Luka fan. While he is nowhere near the player Doncic is, he has a similar skill set.

I have stories about being the parent of the “white boy” that you wouldn’t believe. Relaying them would raise my blood pressure to an unacceptable level.

I know he has some stories about being the “white boy” he won’t tell me because he is worried about what I’d do.

It can be a brutal, unforgiving, racist “culture”. Not everyone. I’ve met some great people over the course of his time playing the sport. Probably not even a majority. But it’s certainly not an exception.

He uses it for motivation now that he’s older.

When he was younger it was much harder for him to take and for me to stay out of prison

There are all kinds of colorful terms for ethnic/racial slurs, but the ones for white people are pretty lame.

He calls me hillbilly and peckerwood all day long and all it does is make me laugh.

We are bros busting each other's balls and everything is meant in jest.

If he doesn't like you, he will either ignore you or just call you an amateur (the worst insult you can have in my department).

And for clarification, the black player called the white player a bitch ass white boy..

If the white guy called the black guy a bitch ass black boy, all hell would break loose.

Do the Clippers still have the worst win-loss record in the NBA, or has that changed? When Jay Leno hosted the Tonight Show it was a semi-recurring gag. (That was the last time I cared.)

I wont watch pro basketball any time soon.

Its all just so ridiculous and my time is too valuable to pretend this is a real sport anymore.
