Many thanks to all that posted. I learned a lot about rain gauges. Tatortodd, I am going to order the one in you link. This is why Sig Forum is my most read forum.

My only concern might be that the paint on the glass might be compromised by the metal spiral eventually .

Just rec’d my rain gauge in time for a 2.3 inch rainfall, most for quite awhile in my part of Florida. Great gauge, easy to read, cheap enough. Tks for the referral!
