| The cables would most likely have better sound quality. |

| If your receiver only has analog rca audio input, use the lightning headphone adaptor with a 3.5mm to RCA cable, or a Bluetooth adaptor as previously suggested. If you want the best sound quality possible, if your receiver has a digital audio input, you can use an older Apple TV with optical out, or a new Airport Express which has digital audio out through a 3.5mm jack, and you can stream wirelessly through airplay, which is lossless I believe. The Airport Express also has analog audio out, so you can use the 3.5mm to RCA cable even if your receiver does not have a digital audio input. Using that lossless wireless transfer and the D/A converter in the Airport will definitely give you better quality than a Bluetooth adapter, and probably better than the headphone adapter straight from the iPhone. But I'm not sure that you'd appreciate the lossless transfer over just using a Bluetooth adapter. The newer Apple TV and similar devices have HDMI outputs, and you can use that as well if your receiver has an HDMI input. http://www.apple.com/airport-express/ |
