Back in July of 2024 I made a request for the forum to help with continuing to keep someone incarcerated and, sadly, that time is approaching yet again. If I may be allowed I will repost my original post. I would like to ask my FB friends for a favor, if you are of a mind to. My cousin Suzanne's father was murdered back in 1978, he once said that he felt more affinity with our side of the family than his own, so I suppose that I could say he was my cousin, too. His name was Robert Aylward. His murder was the third and most horrific and ghastly that the indescribable piece of filth perpetrated. This lowlife has periodically been considered for parole, beginning back in 1992 and so far, happily, he has been turned down. That time has come again, he is up for consideration this September. Instead of in-person meeting with the Parole Board the sessions are to be done either through Zoom, snail mail or email. This, then, is the favor I ask. I would like to ask that you might take a moment of your time and contact the Board and express your opinion that Glendal Rider (I despise even having to type out his name) simply must remain where he is, incarcerated, where he cannot be of any threat. A number of has strongly felt that, were he released, my cousin's family could be in danger, as well as the WPD officer who recaptured him after escaping from a hospital for the criminally insane. And even if he didn't manage to do that, what innocent person he might come into contact with could be in jeopardy? As I told the members of the Parole Board during the last hearing "He is a predator, plain and simple, it would as releasing a wolf unto the fold.” So, here we are again. Previously the Prisoner Review Board (PRB) only allowed a session via Zoom or email, however this year, come September, they are holding an in person session, which I will be attending. For those of you who would be so inclined to do so I am posting the link to the Office of Victim Services. KDOC_ KDOC_Victim_Notification@ks.gov The pertinent information is Rider, Glendal, KDOC #2000002029 Would my wish be granted this fetid, stinking piece of human excrement would do civilization a favor and simply breathe his last breath, preferably in excruciating pain. However that’s not in my power. My apologies for the long winded post. If anyone chooses to comment to the PRB I would be grateful and appreciative. This message has been edited. Hi clubleaf- I am glad to do this, but does the fact that I live well away from the state of Kansas cause my input to be invalid as far as the parole board is concerned? .

^^^ Wondering the same thing. A total, anonymous stranger on the internet a thousand or more miles away, I would think, would have no "standing" (for want of a better word). Would it not be limited to victims and families?

Hey club leaf, in researching the case to compose my letter, I found this: Convicted murderer Glendal A. Rider is serving three consecutive life sentences for multiple murders. Reports regarding his potential release in 2026 stemmed from an administrative error by the Kansas Department of Corrections, which mistakenly sent out notification letters indicating a pending release. Victim advocates confirmed the notice was a mistake and Rider remains imprisoned. This may not be accurate, but it is worth checking into. .

No, sir, that is immaterial. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

I don’t believe that is accurate, I think it’s merely that he gets the chance, slim though I hope it is, to have his sentence brought before the parole board once again. A couple of years ago he applied for clemency. Happily, Kansas ranks 49th in states that have inmates apply for it, with even fewer granted. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

Then that would mean someone who had been affected by a crime but have moved to another state would have no recourse. So, no, it doesn’t matter where the comment originated. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."
