I saw that insane bitch’s rant on the news. BTW: What does a union president that represents public school teachers have to do with college loans? I’m nearly certain that college professors aren’t part of her group.

It's my belief that this money grab is going to get shot down by SCOTUS. I think people like Weingarten know this, and this accounts for their unhinged behavior on the issue.

The media/Democrats are getting the rhetoric campaign started. A loss is almost as good as a win for these people since they control the narrative.

If Congress intended back in 2003 to give the executive branch the power to spend $400 billion to buy out student loans with the stroke of a pen they sure are being quiet about it now.

They do, but they can and often do pass legislation delegating some of their spending power to executive branch agencies. The government’s argument here is that the 2003 HEROES Act gave the Department of Education the power to do this.

My family saved for our childrens' college expenses. Bought functional cars, took reasonable vacations and lived within our means. Both went to state universities with lower tuition than the fancy name universities. Both came out debt free and have good jobs. The idiots who went to private colleges and got degrees in German poetry of modern dance should pay off their debt as it would be a good lesson not to do stupid stuff.

My 8 year old was sitting next to me while I was watching that soundless clip of her and he said:

"what's that guy yelling about?" Smile

Ok... what is wrong with this idiot.

Seriously, does she have no idea what the difference is between financial support given to some businesses to keep the economy from collapsing in the middle of a world wide pandemic vs. allowing millions of students not have to pay back their loans?

Does she understand what a slap in the face is to everyone else who paid their loans off, and those of us who didn't go that route and ignored the college Greek/party/social life because we were working 2 jobs (while carrying a full load of 12-15hrs of classes) to pay our tuition and books?

It's my fault you elected to take out $80,000 in student loans so you could get a liberal arts degree in domestic social issues that pretty much guarantees you won't find employment outside of food service or hospitality? I have to pay for that now?

Part of the college experience should teach financial and time management. If you haven't had to decide between putting gas in the gar to get to work or forgoing Wendys in favor of Ramen noodles(again) or had to turn down an opportunity to get together after class for a beer because you had to go to work before going home to study, you really learned little of value in college.

I certain see no reason why my tax dollars should fund, after all the sacrifices that I made in college, someone else's free ride.

Weingarten is a lesbian. She has a wife. She has no children.

She was a potential secretary of education in the biden administration.

And that is their best trait. After that, it goes downhill, fast.

When Elizabeth Warren was running for President in 2020, she was confronted by
The father of a current college student. He said he had worked double shifts, diligently saving for college, so he could pay for his daughter’s education without the need for student loans.

“In the exchange, which was caught on video and posted to Twitter Tuesday, the father tells Warren that he saved all his money for his daughter's college education. "Am I going to get my money back?" he asked her, to which she said "of course not."

"So you're going to pay for people who didn't save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed?" he said.”

Later he explained that his neighbors had new cars and went on vacations. Their children amassed student debt.

People that are in student debt now know the worth of their education

It seems fair that those of us the got out children a college education without debt should get tax credit.

Or those of us who worked our asses off, working a full-time job while going to evening classes, on the pay-as-you-go plan, not borrowing money. We treated college as a serious business, an opportunity to learn, not as a party venue.

She is off the scale, looney toons to the left, unhinged.

That’s what they want for her position. She can take blame for kids falling behind with schools closed too.

What's "not fair?" Roll Eyes That anyone dared to challenge it in the first place? The court has barely started to hear the case. No actual ruling has been issued, and won't be for months (unless somebody leaks it).

The sad thing is that the slimy democRATs have figured a way to get these irresponsible little brats votes for the foreseeable future. It’s either “we got you loan forgiveness!” Or “those mean, nasty republicans won’t pay off your debt that we think you’re owed!”. There is no integrity or responsibility on the left. None.
