I currently have a tall charcoal upright smoker. The fire box is lower to the ground. Due to a current situation getting to it to maintain the fire is becoming a little difficult. So my question is, has anyone found a short table maybe two feet off the ground that works to elevate the smoker. This would be something that would be kept outside under the smoker all the time so something that could withstand some weather would be nice. The smoker will be covered and I hope to find a cover long enough to cover the stand also. Any ideas will help Thanks The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I use cinder blocks under mine. Completely weatherproof and fireproof.

I would want something completely fireproof, so either cinder blocks or a round wraught iron table or metal table.

4 cinder blocks on end. I use a Weber standing smoker and that’s what I’d do if I had issues getting up and down . But have you tried using the “snake” method for the smoker? It’s where you make a ring of charcoal in the fire area, and remove a handful so that it burns from one end and around the circle. Stays just as hot and lasts hours. Thanks for the ideas, I did not think of using cement blocks. This looks like the way I will go. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I have not tried the snake method however it sounds like a great idea. I am getting my smoker out of the shed this week. I have not used it in years. It is a charcoal smoker however last time I used it I was using electric coil element hot plates to burn the wood for smoke. I want to go back to the natural charcoal/hard wood method again. I have the 22" Weber Smokey Mountain. I bought the 24" wide tool cart from Harbor Freight so I can move it around easily. The cart does raise it a little plus a put a windbreak on one side. I use the minion method for all of my cooks, haven't tried the snake method. Nick nick_mur

The Charcoal Snake method works. I only use just a few briquettes, maybe 10-12 or so in the fire starter chimney. Too many and it will get too hot after adding to one end of the snake.

My big green egg sits in a cypress wooden table on top of a concrete paver. I have been using it 11 years with no problems CMSGT USAF (Retired) Chief of Police (Retired)

Those work well, smoked turkey in them with Mesquite when I lived in Tulsa, tasty, putting it up on a few blocks should be fine. Same here, my Costco Egg is up in a wood BGE table from ACE and works great.
