They are not available at any of the major supermarkets here in Spring Texas.

The small round, salted, red skinned, peanuts my wife likes so much.

The closest thing I can find are "Beer Nuts" for $5 for a small can in the liquor stores.

Any luck or am I relegated to the internet?

I can't find these either. Tell your wife to try the Planters Lightly Salted Cocktail peanuts. These are not a perfect substitue, but better than most alternatives.

Hard to find in my area, stores carry them, but they seem to sell out quickly.

You just brought back a childhood memory.

When I was a kid there used to be 5 & 10 stores around like Woolworth's and Rose's.
As you entered the store there would always be a hot nut glass counter with all types. You would find cashews, brazil, assorted, regular peanuts and the most favorite of the time were Spanish peanuts... They generally also had peanut brittle.
Don't remember the name of the seller, but the paper bags had stripes on the bottom...

That fresh hot nut smell... was intoxicating.

You have a Meijer or Kroger grocery store nearby? They both sell them.

They were a summer snack out fishing.

Reminded me of Nasbisco Doo Dads only to find out they're no longer made.

Weird timing...last night I was eating some roasted peanuts, and had the same memory!

Hadn't thought about that in decades!

George, I buy them all the time at the Kroger stores just north of you. They even have bottles of soft drinks in which to put those little bronze beauties. Smile

You have to get them in the little plastic packs so they will pour into the soft drink bottle.

Local Smith's stores (Kroger) have them (raw) in the bulk foods section.

Nuke a handful on a paper plate for fresh-roasted goodness.

When I was a kid people would buy a small bottle Coca-Cola and pour their Lance pack of salted peanuts into the bottle.
(The urban legend at the time was that a small bottle Coke had the same amount of syrup as a large but less water).
