Postimage has a 1500x800 or so setting that is said to be for a 15” monitor. That’s the one I choose. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

I usually drop to 640x480 for things I post because a) my pics aren't all that great to begin with, b) it's easier on bandwidth, and c) it's easier for people surfing the site on phones. God bless America.

800 pixels is the forum width. More than that will stick out beyond wrapped text posts. If the photo is landscape orientation and 4:3 aspect ratio then 800x600 pixels. Serious about crackers

There's no set size requirement. But large photos will display funny for folks with smaller displays and lower resolutions. I tend to try to stick to 800-1000ish pixels at the max, because there are a lot of folks browsing on phones/tablets, or with old computers with low resolution displays.
Nope. That is entirely based on the user's display settings. For example, this photo is 800 pixels wide (800x600), and only takes up about 1/3 of my computer screen and about 1/2 of the post width, because my display resolution is 2560x1600. But if I look at it on my phone, the same 800x600 photo takes up basically the entire width of the post area and nearly the entire width of the phone screen.

Ah so. Thanks, I didn’t know. I browse SIGforum almost exclusively on my iPhone. Serious about crackers
