Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath.

Hugs from grandchildren (or at my age, great-grandchildren)

This past Summer, I dropped in unexpectedly on my daughter. GGD Izzy was spending the day with her. When I got out of the car, she RAN across the yard yelling "PaPa!", literally jumped into my arms and gave me a hug I can can still feel.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

The love of a pet.

For me it's cockatoos, for others it's something I can't understand and you can't understand mine, but its your pet and that pet loves you, that I do understand.

You guys nail it! It's almost like a recipe:

I'll take Big Swede's list and add in the "patio campfire" on a cool evening.

Add in Waterbury Bob's good pizza and good beer, and a few fast cars and motorbikes.

Mix in some Smooth bourbon, laughing children, a wide variety of music, and healthy family and friends.

Top it all off with good health, moderate wealth, and God's blessings.

I'm very happy with my job, my team, and the fact that I have them. There's happiness in the knowledge that for every thing in my life I might grump about, I've got at least two things that make me grin every day.

Blessed.

God bless America.
