Dishwasher advice? Appliance Brad or any other opinions / experience welcome.
Mrs. slosig is looking for a new dishwasher. The local shop is big on Kitchenaid and Bosch. Both look nice, but the kitchenaid seems to have bigger / better racks. Any recommendations or experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks much in advance,

-Nick

It has been a few years back but brad recommended a Kitchen aid that was not the latest greatest run for ever water saver garbage made by everyone now. Has been a gem.
Many love Bosch. My folks had one several years ago. Liked it. Bought a more resent version when they moved. The new one is not near the quality unit the previous one was according to them.

Kitchenaid, Bosch, and Miele are all very good. Which one has a local servicing company that works on them in your area?

Purchased Bosch 4 years ago. Very quiet & has run 1 load a day with not a single problem. About once every 2 months I have to clean the trap from soap residue.

I recall that Brad recommended a Maytag. When I checked a local dealer, the specific model that Brad recommended had been discontinued, no longer available. They did have a similar model, major difference was a change in the handle.

Thanks to all for your feedback. Jimmy, thanks that is a good point. We’ve found the key issue on tractors is the speed and quality of the local support. I’ll check into that.

Any other input also appreciated!

We just bought a LG . It is very quiet. It also has a steam clean cycle that will remove dried egg yoke off of a plate with no "pre-wash" in the kitchen sink. We just put our dishes in it straight from the table. Very hard to get used to. I'm sure other modern dishwashers do the same thing. I would make sure that your choice has a steam (or equivalent) cycle. It is a real time saver.

Kitchenaid, stainless interior and exterior, 2 or 3 db more than the quietest model but still very quiet, about $300.00 less than top of the line model 4 yrs ago. GTG.
Who does the local support for whatever product you buy will be very important. If you know who that is contact them in advance before you buy. Some of them also sell appliances and would welcome a chance to give you a price.

Sadly, I think we abused Brad too much, he is no longer posting here. I can't blame him, hell the poor guy was almost hounded for advice, diagnosis, etc., he was a great guy.

Bosch, all the way. We just had one installed and we love it. Dead quiet, cleans everything with no prewash. Well laid out interior. Consumer Reports gave it a top rating. Model #SHP865WF5N/11

Whatever you get (I have a Bosch and really like it) I recommend getting one with a third rack for silverware. It really frees up a lot of space for other stuff and can be removed it you need the space for something tall.

I have had the Bosch for about 6 months and it is way better than the POS 4 year old GE that it replaced. My parents have had a Bosch for about 3 years and they love theirs.

While I like LS1GTO’s suggestion I dont think the wife would buy into it.

Ours is a recent Bosch with top rack for silverware. Very nice, extremely quiet. Stainless steel inside. Very happy with it. Bought at Lowe’s. Installed myself. (Then again, friends think I am pretty handy around tools).

My current and last house used/use a Bosch. My new house will have a Bosch.
