We had a couple of weeks of smoke and haze in southern Colorado. In 2013 we drove from Jasper down to Banff, and the fire damage on that drive was amazing. Do the Canadians use a let it burn policy?

Even here in central Arkansas there has been quite a lot of haze from the canadian fires.





If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.

Smokey here in the Capital Region today. As soon as I went outside I could smell the smoke this morning. My wife described the sky as almost having a post apocalyptic look to it today.

The NWS has a Haze & Smoke Warning for this area for today & tonight.

I thought it was awfully hazy yesterday morning when we went for our walk, then I remembered reports of the smoke from the Canadian fires drifting south. Even though the actual weather was clear, I couldn't find any stars when I went outside last night at 11PM.

I read that the Canadians have something like 440 active wildfires right now in that area when in a normal year they have less than 30. They are starting to call in and ask for international help.

We have an unhealthy air advisory again today. The sunlight is more yellow because of the smoke.
Last week the smoke here was from Nova Scotia; now it's from fires in Quebec.

Between the Canadian fires' smoke, a back door cold front and a stalled low, temps have been in the 50s or low 60s with bouts of drizzle and rain since Saturday.

It got so bad in Syracuse, NY that the minor league game between the Lehigh Valley (PA) Iron Pigs and Syracuse Mets was postponed last night.

And I saw a pic posted somewhere on a social media platform that was allegedly taken at 5 pm in upstate NY and it looked like 9 o'clock at night, street lights on and car headlights on.

I received an email from our township today asking residents to stay indoors with the windows closed. If we are outdoors an N95 mask is recommended. All outdoor sports are cancelled.
