Well Seattle just announced an idea to make large areas of the city “car free”, so that might come in useful if having to traverse these areas given the current climate.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I sheepishly admit to having shot a handgun while riding a bicycle. Big Grin

A game a friend and I came up with, it was a form of bowling pin shooting, you shot them as you rode by. (With a revolver with a VERY heavy double action trigger.) Great fun, but clearly not for everyone. Wink

What he was doing was unsafe, the rifle didn't even enter into it. lol

I can’t shake the impression that the demonstration was a stunt to show off the guy’s good bicycling and shooting skills. If not, what possible tactical/practical purpose would shooting while riding a bicycle toward the threat serve? If someone was part of a bicycle-mounted infantry unit assaulting a position along a well-maintained paved road and we were laying down covering fire it might make sense, but otherwise?

I’m reminded of the puzzlement I feel when I see people practicing their shooting while walking toward the target. Moving sideways? Yes, but walking directly toward an adversary is no different than standing still—except that it makes us easier to hit as we advance (distance is the skilled shooter’s friend). And if he’s standing still he at least has the advantage of a stable firing position, which we don’t.

Shooting with both hands on the gun while riding a bicycle just makes the tactical situation worse because it severely limits our ability to change direction, and what happens if we encounter a minor obstacle? Even if we survive the crash without serious injury, all we’ve done is severely limit, if not eliminate entirely, our ability to continue shooting, plus now we’re a helpless stationary target on the ground.

Interesting and relatively impressive, but surely not intended to be taken seriously. (And yes, that’s probably what I’m doing.) Smile

Saw a show on Gun TV years ago, one of the premier shooting instructors (can't remember his name) offering classes on how to use a roadside rest stop bathroom the proper way and how to deal with the guys trying to shoot you when you walked out of it.

I'm not joking. Saw it twice.

Believe me, others will take this up. And pretty soon forums will be filled with threads like, "what red dot sight for my bicycle gun?" and "Help, my gun keeps falling out of my thigh mounted drop holster when I pedal."
