It will be interesting to see how many brands -- and over how many months/years -- bring about a return to "normal, and what will be the causes/effects.

Will companies cut straight to the bone and say, "hey, we're not making good money anymore?" Will they recognize the customer loss and pushback? And once they make the change, will customer loyalty increase again? Or will the suffering be long-term, well past the "oops, we goofed" admission?

I think it'll be fun to watch, and I'm tempted to bug a friend who specializes in marketing about the measurables on these presumed recoveries.

Marketing to .0329% of the population to get approval of 20% of the population of which 3% will buy your goods while also alienating 70% of the population will result in 100% profit 5% of the time. I remember that Bud Lite lady said something like that once.

I wonder if VS knows their marketing base is the men who admire the bodies that wear what VS sells. If men are turned off, the money stops flowing. Think they figured it out? I don't know. They've hired Megan Rapinoe to represent.....
